Born and raised in Orange City, IA, Matt now calls Sioux Falls home with his wife and four children. With an original plan of going to law school, Matt had a family friend bring him into an independent firm while living in Southern California and he’s never looked back. His love for people and business was a perfect fit for the industry and he’s passionately been helping clients ever since.
Prior to joining Meadowland Financial Group, Matt was a regional leader for numerous financial institutions where he was responsible for coaching and developing financial advisors in and around the Dakotas, Southwest Minnesota and Northwest Iowa. Missing the work he previously did with clients and burnt out from the corporate end of his roles, he sat down with Matt and Pete at Meadowland in late 2020 about joining forces. He instantly felt drawn to their holistic approach to planning, their client first mentality, and desire to create one of the premier financial services firms in the area and officially joined the team in January of 2021.
When not helping at the office Matt stays busy coaching his kids and spending time with family. He is a graduate of the University of Sioux Falls with degrees in Sociology and Criminal Justice and was a member of the football and baseball teams, student government, and theatre program while there.
